Happy Friday readers! Today I share with you the random firings of my mind. Join me as I sink into the chaotic 1 abyss that is my imagination. These are random TTRPG thoughts.
- I was listening to an interview this morning and had a sudden thought about what it would be like to convert my novel into a TTRPG. That was weird.
- Having two of my old 2nd Edition AD&D books back in my possession is so wild. It’s like having an artifact reminding me that a previous version of myself existed.
- I’ve now done four Dragonbane videos. It is safe to say this game has sparked something for me.
- My Numenera session got cancelled this week, which made me sad. But we rescheduled for November 7 so at least I don’t have too long to wait 2.
- I’m really excited for some upcoming interviews. I just need to settle the dates before I can announce the upcoming guests for Skipping Lunch!
- We need a third party source to post “TTRPG wish lists.” It would be handy for GMs who would like to ask for games for their birthdays or other gift-giving holiday, but know their family members hear TTRPG talk as if it were the teacher in Charlie Brown.
- I have backed far more kickstarters than I ever thought I would be able to back, and by the end of November three should be in my hands. Yesssssss….
- Last night at my Basic Fantasy RPG table the party had a mission to prevent something on a cart from reaching a nearby village. They were all set to blow it up, when they discovered a missing party member was locked in a cage on said cart. Plans changed 3.
- I’ve now run six different systems as a GM, and played in two more. This is not a large number, really, but it’s more than a lot of the folks in the hobby get to play and that makes me happy.
- Having a favorite game, or favorite style of play, doesn’t mean that other styles or games are garbage. Pass it on.
-
Good. ↩
-
Put your games in your calendar, folks! ↩

The PC also took a magical blast to his chest while wearing no armor, and lived. That was a moment. ↩

My wife and kids think I’m a nerd. They’re not wrong. I did get a Doctor Who hoodie for Christmas last year but they’d be hard-pressed to guess which games or books I’d like. I have a wish list in my videos but it only works for Amazon Canada so it’s unlikely to yield any gifts. I wish Amazon would unify them so an American could send me something from my list.

It’s so odd that shipping to Canada has become so difficult.
