It’s Friday, my body has decided that sleeping long stretches overnight is optional, and I just had my first sip of coffee. These are random TTRPG thoughts.
- I was at PAXU last Friday and Saturday and had a blast. The best is, I didn’t get con crud! My little got sick, however, and has shared. Sigh.
- One of the things I’ve enjoyed covering TTRPGs is getting to know some of the folks who make them. And seeing some people again at PAXU this year solidified that for me. There’s a lot of collegiality and kindness among the folks I’ve encountered.
- I had to cancel my BFRPG session last night, just too sick to try to run the game. I’m kinda psyched for the next adventure, though.
- I got to play a Dragonbane encounter with Mr. Dragonbane himself! What a blast. It ended when my friend Dave, from Grimwood games, grabbed a huge diamond and left the rest of us for dead. Dragonbane is fun!
- My ICRPG one shot went over well. I ended up with three players so I probably toned down the encounters a bit too much. But folks had a good time. It was the first time I used a battle mat, too, that was cool.
- Dave is writing Grimwood City, which is an urban fantasy setting which currently uses EZD6 as its engine. I played an adventure with him on Saturday and it was a ton of fun.
- Had I not had to be over decorating the church on Saturday morning I probably would have stayed at PAXU and had dinner with some folks. I don’t regret coming home, I got to put my little one to bed both nights of the con, but maybe next year.
- I’m starting to get a number of tables for Ecclesicon–April 12-14 in Palmyra, NJ. I’m at the “ask” stage, and I’m terrible at that 1.
- I’m hoping I’m recovered enough to run my Numenera group on Monday! I hate being sick.
- Candela Obscura’s world is interesting. I can’t wait to do a full review.

Really bad. I’m getting better, but…still not great. ↩
