Random Thoughts #23

It’s Tuesday, Mother Nature continues to turn my head into a helium balloon, and my sleep schedule is all sorts of messed up. My brain is sailing a thousand dreamy thoughts, and the coffee is sparking them into moving. These are random TTRPG thoughts.

  1. I’m running an adventure I didn’t write for the first time this week. It should be interesting.
  2. My BFRPG group is at a point where I needed everyone to be there for the next session. One person couldn’t make it so we scrubbed and decided to play another system, and this meant I got to run a character for a change. Thanks Dave!
  3. As I prepped the session for Wednesday I opted to use Apple’s iPad app, Freeform. It’s as close as I can get to the excellent Scapple app from Literature & Latte. Not quite as fast, but still very good. I’ve got the room descriptions laid out in the same setup as the map, monster blocks cut out into the notebook, and the different keys for the adventure. It’s a fun experiment which I may need to use more.
  4. As of this writing I’m 264 subscribers away from 3000 on my channel!
  5. One of my tee-shirts is showing up this week. I’m kinda excited.
  6. The value of this Cypher System humble bundle is insane.
  7. I made my own GM Screen for Numenera! It’s way flawed, but I had fun making it! Next up I’m going to make a DM Tales themed screen and will see about embedding some magnets on the inside. Go here to see the tutorial I followed.
  8. Arkenforge and Dungeondraft are my two favorite battle map creators.
  9. I’m working on some location building for my Numenera group, and it’s so much fun.
  10. Back in the day I never had enough people to play all the TTRPGs I collected. Thanks to the internet I no longer have any shortage folks to gather at the table–virtual or actual. This is cool.
