Random TTRPG Thoughts #24

It’s Tuesday, I’m sitting in my favorite coffee shop. Allergies are still causing my brain to misfire and my eyes to feel like sandpaper, but caffeine is charging my brain for a short period of misfiring mental sparks. These are random TTRPG thoughts.

  1. My ShadowDark video review is the first video I’ve done that topped 1k views in a long while. It’s safe to say that game has captured some attention.
  2. I picked up the Savage Worlds module for Foundry VTT. That system is one I’d like to run. It’s fast, fun, simple, and has exploding dice.
  3. I’m looking forward to setting up some Actual play live steams to raise money for charity.
  4. I’m at the point that I have so many systems I want to run I’m going to start doing one shots just to check them out. And maybe live stream them for the heck of it.
  5. As I’m writing this I’m 229 subscribers away from 3000 on my YouTube channel. Come join the fun!
  6. I had an insight last night. I enjoy helping communities form because I’ve always felt like an outsider 1. This may also be why I enjoy GMing so much. Gathering folks around a table and seeing relationship form is gratifying.
  7. We took my little and a friend to a local trampoline park the other day. On the way over my little demanded I explain Dragonbane to his friend. That made me happy.
  8. We’ve trained people to suppress imagination. To say this is dehumanizing is an understatement. This is one reason why I enjoy role-playing games–it trains people to embrace their imaginations.
  9. I’m going to rebrand my one shot days as “Ecclesicon: Day of Adventure.”
  10. I’m really digging Household, I need to find time to finish reading it!

  1. Even in the communities I’ve helped shape. Yah, there’s some issues there.
