Random TTRPG Thoughts #47

It’s Tuesday, two days before Halloween. The sugar about to be consumed has travelled back in time and is already making my little one hyped up, allergies make my eyes feel like sandpaper, and I haven’t slept well the past couple of night. But I have coffee, the house is quiet, and my brain is booting up. These are random TTRPG thoughts.

  1. I think folks were pleased with the conclusion of our BFRPG campaign. The last moment was suitably epic (someone brought the goddess who was trying to destroy the world down, but then I gave everyone one last attack with a big bonus to hit) and then I gave people an opportunity to say what their characters were going to do. Oh, and everyone got a level up. One day we’ll have to revisit this crew.
  2. I got to GM on two live streams last week and it was so much fun.
  3. I have no games this week. It feels…odd.
  4. Event Submissions are open for Ecclesicon 2025! It’ll take place March 28-30 in Palmyra, NJ. Come out and play!
  5. The Cypher System chaos adventure raised money for those suffering in the wake of hurricanes Helene and Milton, and donations are still open.
  6. Everyone check out Elder Goblin Games’ GMuary video!
  7. RIP Gary, delver Into The Odd. We won’t forget you. We may even drag you back from the dead and toss you into another system so maybe “RIP” is premature.
  8. Every time I think I may have hit the point where I think I’ve dived deep enough into the hobby, I see something shiny another 10 feet down.
  9. I lack the time, manual dexterity, and patience to paint minis. Also, I tend to spaz out when I’m attempting to be careful so the minis wouldn’t stay on the table anyway. It’s why I use a lot of digital tools.
  10. The best compliment I can get from players is hearing them recount stories from a session I GM’d.
