Random TTRPG Thoughts #63

It’s warming up after the weeks of bitter cold, my psyche is dreading the coming clock change, and I have imbibed my morning caffeine. In all this my brain is firing up as random sparks of lucid thought become entangled with my squirrel-brain attention span. These are random TTRPG thoughts.

  1. I love hex crawls, and if you love hex crawls I encourage you to go check out Inkwell Ideas Hexploration Deck crowdfunding campaign. If you don’t know what a a hex crawl is I can only say how much I enjoy running them and encourage you to check out how they work!
  2. On Wednesday I’ll be chatting with Jason Campbell from Shadowmain to talk about his new murder mystery, Hint. It’s designed for both Brindlewood Bay and as a stand-alone product using the Cypher System. I can’t wait!
  3. Last week I did a first look at Monty Python’s Cocurricular Mediaeval Reenactment Programme. This game has lightning-fast mechanics and is written in the voice of a Monty Python sketch. Thanks Exalted Funeral for the review copy.
  4. For two weeks running no of the characters died in my Dragonbane group. We’ll see how long that lasts.
  5. I would really like to have a “normal” day off so I can sit down and write.
  6. I’ve got a lot of live streams scheduled all of the sudden. It’s kind of fun!
  7. Five things I did last week which I haven’t already mentioned:
    • Got the auction items listed on the Ecclesicon Website.
    • Completed the order for the Ecclesicon tee-shirts and interview backdrop.
    • Sent out multiple invites to Ecclesicon 2025, March 28-30 in Palmyra NJ.
    • Put out a comparison video of the two comic book systems I run.
    • Sent up many flares about the destruction of our constitutional republic in favor of autocracy.
  1. I am grateful for all the folks who have helped with Ecclesicon planning and spreading the word! Let’s do this!
  2. I love running Numenera.
  3. A friend told me last week that I “come alive” when I talk about role-playing games. They aren’t wrong.
