Random TTRPG Thoughts #48

It’s the week after Halloween. The torture that is “moving the clocks” has been inflicted on my poor brain and Christmas decorations are up. Time really has no meaning and my neurons can’t keep up. As they sputter awake, with the help of coffee, these are random TTRPG thoughts.

  1. Tonight I’m running a Cypher System chaos stream. No maps, no plot, no big bag guy. Not a single plan for me.
  2. With the holidays, and now a short school break, my normal tables have been interrupted. I’m getting a tad twitchy for a game. Or that may be anxiety over the real threat of fascism. Or, maybe it’s both?
  3. I like to make “Howlmark Adventures” for different systems. Most of these have been rail-roady (it’s a Hallmark movie, after all), but I’m pondering doing a Cypher System chaos adventure where all the random tables are filled with Hallmark tropes. Players will be able to do what they want, but to progress to the next step without being hindered they’ll need to use Hallmark logic.
  4. I’m running my Into the Odd adventure, “The Vault of Dorenze” at Ecclesicon this year. I’m kinda psyched for this!
  5. I think I may also run a Cypher System chaos table (everything will be generated in real time through random rolls) and, perhaps, Dragonbane.
  6. Speaking of Ecclesicon. It’s running March 28-30 in Palmyra, NJ—and event submissions are open!
  7. I haven’t ever run a PC at a Cypher System table. I think I’d like to change that.
  8. #GMuary is coming! If you’ve ever thought about running a game, but have been leery of stepping behind the GM Screen, here’s your chance!
  9. The DM Tales YouTube channel is covering all Super Hero content this month. It’s #Supervember!
  10. I wonder if I can get my in-laws to play a game on Thanksgiving.
