It’s Monday morning, my stomach feels like it’s part of my body again, and I’m drinking coffee. These are random TTRPG thoughts.
- Only three weeks until Ecclesicon! Come out and roll some dice in Palmyra, NJ!
- This week I’ll be working on a video explaining how the Daggerheart core mechanic works. It’s…interesting, but probably has too many fiddly bits.
- As of this writing my YouTube Channel has 2588 subscribers. When I hit 3000 I’m giving away a copy of the Cypher System core rule book!
- I was finally able to run Dragonbane though more than a simple combat. It was so much fun I wrote up the first part of the crawl as a story. Part two will come soon.
- All my games are on March Madness/personal health/Holy Week 1 hiatus. This time of year is always a perfect storm of such things.
- My two favorite systems to run at this point are Dragonbane and Numenera/Cypher System. Both are so fast at the table and a ton of fun for players. Basic Fantasy and EZD6 are right up there, as well.
- One thing I’m glad about is that most folks at my tables are like, “I don’t care what we play, if you’re running a game we’ll play it.”
- As I see it, most folks involved the hobby are “casual players” who don’t gobble up books and tons of dice. They just want to have a good time with friends. And that’s ok.
- There are many times after a session when I think, “Oh, dang, I should have done that.” I consider this a good thing.
- I am grateful for the connections I’ve made through DM Tales. There’s some wonderful folks in this hobby space and I’m glad to have met them!

For folks who don’t know, my “day job” is pastoring a small church. So Holy Week is kinda busy for me. ↩
