I am writing this on Thanksgiving Day here in the U.S.A. So, despite an immanent food coma, I figured I’d share ten things for which I’m thankful in the TTRPG space. These are not so random thoughts. Or maybe they are random, I’ve had a lot of sugar.
- I’m thankful for the folks who play at my tables. I mean, without them I’d have no games to play.
- I’m thankful that I have opportunities to be both a “regular” player and a GM. I’m growing in my appreciation for both sides of the GM Screen!
- I’m thankful for the folks in the industry who’ve trusted me to review their games 1.
- I’m thankful for all the folks with whom I interact on my channel and other social media spaces. You’re all pretty amazing.
- I’m thankful for DM Tales’ patrons, who help make this stuff possible.
- I’m thankful for Doug Shute, from Victory Condition Gaming, who encouraged me to reach out to more folks in the TTRPG hobby space 2.
- I’m thankful for the Basic Fantasy RPG folks who have interacted with me on my channel. You are all amazing.
- I’m thankful that, over the next couple of months, I’ll get to meet some folks I’ve been chatting with online. PaxU and PAGE are going to be fun!
- I’m thankful that I’ll get to be in my first actual play live stream on December 28 3.
- I’m thankful for all the folks who have come on DM Tales to chat about their games and our shared hobby. Thanks folks!

And the few times I’ve had to say, “No, but thank you” I was honored to be asked. ↩

Seriously, there’s no way I’d have attempted to do half my interviews if he hadn’t encouraged me! ↩
-
Playing a system I still need to learn, goals! ↩
