Random TTRPG Thoughts #19

I have been a tad busy the last couple of weeks, but now that Ecclesicon has concluded I’m looking forward to jumping back in to the swing of things. Today is Monday, the day after. I’m drinking coffee, and I’ve not had a lot of sleep the last few days. These are random TTRPG thoughts.

  1. The first two Ecclesicon attendees arrived on Thursday, one from Maine and the other from Georgia! That night we went to a local brewery and played Raccoon Sky Pirates. It was a blast.
  2. As I was talking with my out of town friends on Thursday afternoon my little went and grabbed No Thank You, Evil off the shelf and called us to play. So we did!
  3. I got to play my first full Dragonbane adventure on day one of Ecclesicon. I played a wizard who was in a party with an elf who feared all magic and we spent the whole time bickering. We both survived, though no one knows how, while the dwarf merchant broke a magical staff and blew himself up–along with the mallard knight and a powerful wizard’s treehouse.
  4. My friend from Atlanta had played in my Basic Fantasy RPG campaign for almost three years, all online. He got roll his first physical dice at the convention and I got his first d20 roll on video on video.
  5. My BFRPG game got to play in person for first time on day 2 of the con! My poor owl bears didn’t land a hit.
  6. Level Up Digital is a product I’ve wanted to find for a while. So when I saw it I snatched it up. And when I poked the company to see if I’d get my order before the convention they jumped right on it! It makes using a TV at a physical table really easy.
  7. I’m on character five of the Shadowdark funnel I’m in. No, we’re not playing this week. I’m exhausted.
  8. Grimwood Game‘s Ironbound system was a big hit at the con. Check it out!
  9. Avenue Studios, what can I say? Thanks for coming all the way down here to run games and have fun!
  10. The Nintendads were another big hit at the convention. Thanks for coming out!
  11. And Rob Meischker, from The Philly Area Gaming Expo, thanks for coming out and bringing Phil E. Cheesesteak with you. Your support and presence was a huge boost for me! Come out to PAGE 2 next January, folks!

  1. Nifty. I’m glad it went well and wish I lived in the same country as nearly all my TTRPG friends and collaborators. New Jersey, Missouri, Ohio, Wisconsin… I’m even friends with Florida Man. Or at least a man from Florida. Game on. 🎲
