Random TTRPG Thoughts #28

It’s Tuesday, school’s out, and the allergies will not stop. But I’ve had coffee, my latest video is doing really well, and my mind is floating in caffeinated bliss. These are some random TTRPG thoughts.

  1. I don’t understand why folks can be so threatened when they see people enjoying games they don’t enjoy. To be honest I experience this as well, and I try to process it instead of lashing out, I still don’t understand it. Or perhaps I do, but I don’t understand why that instinct has survived. It doesn’t serve us well.
  2. If you want to find out what game is my current favorite to run, check out my latest video.
  3. Fantasy is my go to genre to run, though I wouldn’t mind branching out a bit. It’s one reason I enjoy Numenera, the science-fantasy is way cool.
  4. What’s your favorite game to play that’s not one of the “typical” answers?
  5. Our normal Thursday campaign didn’t run last week, so we shifted to our current backup, Dragonbane. Three people started the journey, only one came out of the dungeon at the end. But folks loved it.
  6. Not TTRPG related, but my daughter got me the updated Galaxy Explorer Lego set for Father’s day. I’m trying to see how I can fit it on my set once it’s built. The thing is huge!
  7. I don’t think I’m going to be able to fit in a Runejammer session this year, and that bums me out.
  8. Free RPG day is June 22! Is anyone going out to enjoy?
  9. I am always humbled when folks want to play with me, either as a GM or running a PC. It means a lot.
  10. I ordered my first tee-shirt that has my logo and channel motto on it! It’s also the first design where I made all the elements on it (except for the d20 in the logo, that’s a free asset I picked up-I don’t count the fonts). Roll some dice. Worlds are waiting!

  1. 4) Generally, it’s the one I’m playing at the moment. Every once in a while, I find myself playing a stinker, and that’s not true.

One game that really stands out game after game is Public Access. I’m 3 months into a campaign and my players and I are having a blast.
